Don’t Trip Over Something Behind You

Give your attention to that huge pile of shit that sits on your desk.

Its a sign of a mind cleared yes but but not in a negative way 

A mind cleared is a mind ready to create new ideas, ways of thinking, new possibilities.

If you wanted to clear it how long do you think it will take? 

Two mins if you put it all in a bag to be dealt with later.

Fair enough if you’re expecting company not so good if you’re just procrastinating

What are you scared of?

That it will take ages?

That you aren’t ready to release?

That you’ll get lost and lose focus when faced with items of the past?

Or that need dealing with?

That once your mind is clear madness will enter?

Think about when your mind was at it clearest picture visualise it

Was it in a room full of stuff?

Or on a beach?

A mountain

Or just lying in your vw watching the sky

Stuff makes us shrink

Space makes us grow

Give yourself 15 mins

Tell yourself you’ll have it done

Set a timer

Once its gone off stop

Look at what you’ve done

It might be totally clear, organised , decluttered wiped down
It might be just cleared of junk

In which case

The you of tomorrow will be so pleased

She will wake up knowing her junk has gone off the desk

She can see clearly what needs to be done

What’s important

What’s a priority

Any decisions she makes today will come from a place of clarity

She will listen to her inner self

So today is the day to get shit done
Perhaps she’ll set her timer for fifteen mins and organise her desk

 put an inspirational picture up

 light a candle


 Fill her heart with gratitude for the woman of yesterday for clearing shit out

This is the way forward

One step at a time

15 mins a day

looking straight ahead at fills you with light

Love and light 


What the hell do I do with all these pictures


 the bane of my life

The love of my  life

I love to take them

Look at them

Touch them

I want to show them to everyone

Which I can do on insta or Twitter etc

But how much more joy is to be had when you hold each one

Looking at it closely studying it seeing nuances I hadn’t noticed before

Telling the story of the photo as you pass it around

Everyone person touching it, feeling the love of the moment held in its energy

Creating more love energy as they too add a story

A memory

My Mum Nan and Aunty Alice mums wedding day my nan was mortified by my mum holding her friends baby as it may appear to be hers

I adore looking at peoples photos if I come to your house the first thing I want to do is look at your photos.
What I do not want to do is sit through five albums on one ski trip 
I want a handful of memories the ones that really tell the story.

I want to feel the energy that was created the first time the taker saw the image

So therefore only keep photos that invoke happy memories

Yes that may be a beautiful picture of you and your loved one

But if when you look at it a bad memory, negative thought comes up thank it for its lesson and release

Chances are even though the picture is beautiful, flattering a holiday memory etc if it gives you any feeling other than joy when you look at it something happened connected to that photo that holds bad feeling probably not even consciously

Perhaps you bumped your toe, dropped something just something as seemingly insignificant as that creates a bad energy that us then felt every time the picture is seen.

Some exceptions exist, this photo of my best friend Amy  and I at our school Xmas disco aged 15 1991

It’s from a time of huge duality for me, highs and extreme lows, but the sorrow has gone when I look at this because I have made peace with the trauma that goes alongside this photo.

And it was a trauma that taught me more about myself than anything has since

So I love this photo

This one is just a joy

So put aside half hour grab some pictures, keep ones that spark joy, ask if you learned a lesson during that time, but is holds negativeness, thank it for the lesson release

Why kids need minimalism

Having worked as both a professional nanny and housekeeper for over 23 years

And having 3 kids in a small house

I have seen first hand the chaos and stress that masses of toys and possessions causes kids and parents

Particularly in a shared room situation as I have here.

Being DBS certified means I am criminally cleared to work with children both with and without their parents.

My professional childcare and education career as a nursery manager and special needs nursery nurse means I am skilled in communicating with children and adolescents.

Why We All Need Minimalism

Here’s why we all need minimalism…

  • Less cleaning.
  • I don’t think cleaning up and being frustrated and overwhelmed is a very good way to spend these precious, short years of raising kids. Minimalism has created an escape from that for me.

    • I’m always ready to have someone over. 
    • My house could be at it’s very worst, and I would still feel okay having someone drop by. Why? Because there simply isn’t enough stuff in our house to ever allow it to be that messy. It’s so wonderfully liberating.
    • I have more time. We create the life we want, time is in our hands, and I decided to create more time for myself by eliminating the excess.
    • I enjoy my home more.
    •  I don’t like to cook, but I like being in my kitchen. 
    • I love putting on some music and creating a delicious, simple meal for my family. I don’t like doing laundry, but I love sitting in my living room while my kids play  and I fold their clothes.
    •  Minimalism has allowed me to actually love my home and love spending time in it without having to spend hours or days getting it perfectly clean (then having it last all of three seconds).
    • I’m a happier person. 
    • I just have a lot of joy these days. I don’t really know what else to say on this point, except, life is simple and sweet and good, even when we’re going through something hard. Because it’s intentionally focused on what matters most.Since becoming a minimalist, my brain is so uncluttered and clear, which made me a happier person.

      This Spring equinox is the perfect time to Declutter as it brings a wave of fresh beginnings.

      I have no time

      This is what I used to cry when it came to housework.

      I would look around at every untidy room and want to weep at the inevitable whole day it would take to clean and tidy.

      So I would leave it til I had the whole day it needed to be perfect.

      Then I began actually timing how long each job actually took.

      I realised that most jobs could be achieved much quicker than I estimated.

      A bathroom can be cleaned in under ten minutes.

      A bedroom, bed made, everything picked up and put away, hoovered and dusted ten to fifteen minutes.

      I clean and tidy a three storey five bedroom 3 bathroom 2 reception rooms and kitchen, family of 2 adults 3 kids, house in under 1 1/2 hrs

      • All beds made
      • All bathrooms cleaned including floors
      • All floors hoovered including stairs
      • All rooms dusted
      • Kitchen cupboards wiped down same with surfaces

      Break tasks down into 10-15 chunks, challenge yourself to clean the bathroom before your timer goes off.
      Say it is going to take me all day to clean and tidy this house and it will.

      You will lose focus, drift into memories, start emptying cupboards with no real plan thinking you have all day.

      You will always fit a job into the time allocated 

      Set a realistic timeframe

      An hour and a half twice a week of effective cleaning and tidying with pick ups in between is easy to achieve

      Carry a timer and actually time how long each job takes especially those you hate
